How to tell pure silk

• Look for the Silk Mark label (Silk Mark Organisation of India) — on this store the badge shows only after the seller uploads the certificate.
• Pure silk feels warm and smooth and has a soft lustre that changes with light; art silk looks flat and shiny.
• Burn test (on a loose thread only): silk smells like burnt hair and leaves crushable ash; polyester melts into a hard bead.
• Silk is never cold to touch for long and creases softly, not sharply.
